Ann E. Finnell is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Florida School of Law. She has been a trial lawyer for over 31 years. She has handled homicide and death penalty cases since 1981. She specializes in complex homicide litigation including death penalty mitigation. In addition, she has tried serious felony cases including second degree murder and manslaughter cases, capital sexual battery, and other sexual battery cases, kidnapping, armed robbery, armed burglary and violent personal crimes.
Ms. Finnell was featured in the 2002 Oscar-winning documentary "Murder on a Sunday Morning" along with Patrick T. McGuinness, a shareholder in the firm. The film documented the defense team successfully defending a young man against the false charge of murder. She has participated in many high profile cases in her decades of practice including serving as the death penalty attorney for the Casey Anthony defense team in 2010-2011.

Mr. McGuinness left the public defender's office in Jacksonville, Florida as a senior trial attorney in the homicide division after 31 years of service. During his tenure, Mr. McGuinness worked in every division handling felonies and misdemeanors, as well as mental health issues. Since 1983, he has worked primarily capital cases, first and second degree murder cases and manslaughter cases. In addition, he has been the lead counsel in many of the most high profile cases tried in Jacksonville over the past three decades.
Mr. McGuinness and his partner, Ann Finnell, were the featured counsel in a film "murder on a Sunday Morning" which followed a local murder case that ultimately drew international attention. After the successful conclusion of the case and the vindication of their client, the film was featured on HBO and won an Oscar (Academy Award) for the best documentary in 2002.

Gonzalo Andux is a graduate of the University of Florida, and the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He has been a trial lawyer for over 24 years.
Gonzalo practiced as a trial attorney at the Office of the Public Defender in Jacksonville, Florida for 23 years. During his tenure, Gonzalo worked in every criminal division. After 1989, he worked as a senior attorney in the Homicide Division and handled numerous death peanalty cases. Hes has extensive experiencehandling sexual battery, child abuse, capital sexual battery, arson cases, and major violent crimes. He was the lead attorney in the Special Defense Unit for many years.
Mr. Andux has taught and lectured in the areas of criminal law for the Florida Public Defender Association and he has taught Business Law and Business Law II at Jones College in Jacksonville, Florida.

Prior to obtaining admission to the Florida Bar, in the fall of 2008, Zachary received his Juris Doctorate degree from Florida Coastal School of Law. S. NICOLE JAMIESON
S. Nicole Jamieson, originally from Charleston, South Carolina, assisted in her first homicide trial when she was only sixteen years old while employed by a local criminal defense attorney. She attended the College of Charleston where she earned a B.A. degree in Political Science in three years. In college, she joined the Charleston County Public Defender's office where she volunteered her time working on complex criminal cases and assisted with mitigation in a death penalty case. She then relocated to Jacksonville, Florida in 2001 and graduated with a J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law. She began work as trial attorney for the Public Defender's Office in Jacksonville's 4th Judicial Circuit. As an Assistant Public Defender, Nicole has defended almost every type of major crime to include homicide, Jimmy Ryce, Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Armed Burglary, and complex drug trafficking cases.
